Penny the Penguin stood on the snowy shore. The sun shone brightly above, sparkling on the white snow and the blue ice. She loved to waddle around with her friends. They would slide on their bellies and laugh together. But today, Penny felt different. She wanted to sing, but she wasn’t sure how.
All her friends had lovely voices. Bella sang sweetly, and Max had a deep, funny voice. Sometimes, Penny tried to sing along, but her voice would squeak. "What kind of singer am I?" she wondered. She felt shy and wanted to hide.
She watched her friends sing a happy song together. The sound filled the air like magic. Penny felt a little sting in her heart. She wanted to sing too, but fear kept her quiet. She took a deep breath, looked at the beautiful snowy world around her, and thought, “What if I sang just for me?”
So, Penny closed her eyes and began to hum. At first, it was soft. She felt the cold breeze on her feathers. Then, she remembered the happy days she spent with her friends, sliding and playing. Penny’s hum grew louder. It was a tune that felt warm inside her heart.
Suddenly, her voice surprised her. It was sweet and lovely, just like her! Penny opened her eyes and smiled. She stood tall and sang her song just for herself. The notes danced around her like little snowflakes in the air.
Her friends noticed and stopped to listen. They clapped their flippers and cheered. "Penny, that was beautiful! We love your song!" they called out. Penny beamed with joy. She felt proud.
From that day, Penny knew her voice was special. It was hers alone. She sang every day on the snowy shore, surrounded by her friends. And in her heart, she knew the happiest songs came from being herself.
