Milo was a tiny mouse who lived in a sleepy farmhouse. The walls were painted white, and the sun always shone through the big, round windows. Flowers bloomed outside, and the kitchen was always filled with the smell of warm bread. Milo loved his cozy home, but sometimes he felt very small.
One sunny morning, Milo peeked out from his little nook. He spotted a shiny red apple on the kitchen table. It looked so juicy and sweet! Milo’s tummy rumbled. He wanted to taste that apple, but the kitchen felt so big and scary to him. What if the family came back and saw him?
Milo took a deep breath. He remembered his grandma’s words: “Being brave means trying, even when you are scared.” With a tiny nod, he decided to be brave. He scampered out of his nook and across the floor. Each little step made his heart race, but he kept going.
As he reached the table, he felt very small. The table legs looked like giant trees! But Milo kept looking up at the apple. It shined like a bright red star. With a big jump, he climbed up the tablecloth and made his way to the apple.
Suddenly, he heard a noise! It was the sound of footsteps. Milo’s heart pounded. He froze for a second. Should he run back to his nook? No! He remembered to be brave. With a quick nip, he took a small bite of the apple. It was sweeter than he imagined!
Just then, the family walked into the kitchen. Milo quickly dashed behind the apple. They didn’t even notice him! After they sat down, they sliced the apple into pieces. Milo peeked out to see everyone smiling and laughing.
That day, Milo learned that being brave could lead to sweet surprises. He smiled to himself, feeling proud. With a happy heart, he scurried back to his nook, knowing that he could be brave again tomorrow.
